Useless Managers and Angry Customers - Customer Services Representative DHL Express Employee Review

Pros

Some nice colleagues, normally the ones that keep their heads down and don’t chain smoke on breaks and dinners. Slightly above market rate for the job role but not worth the heavy stress that comes with it.

Cons

Far too many managers, only two out of the twenty they have are actually worth their weight in gold, the rest are useless and have serious personal hygiene and mental health problems and don’t actually do anything other than hide away from their desks. The Customers will blame you for everything and the depots never take the fault of their issues or accept responsibility. If you “have” to work in a customer service role in DHL do not work in the call centre for your mental health sake, just work in the depots as they can actually tell customer services to go away even if it’s their issue and they get paid more for far less stress. The stats are far too high and they wonder why their turn over is massive, it’s just not a long term job which results in the workplace having no veterans with long standing experience.

Pros

Great compensation, benefits, and hours. Get to know many clients and businesses on route. Lots of exercise. Lots of alone time.

Cons

For some, the alone time can be very lonely. You are in a van or truck for many hours. Podcasts, radio, hands-free: get to love it. Sometimes logistics can be unpredictable. Delays, traffic, on-call pickups. You have to be very flexible and adaptive with fairly quick critical thinking skills to excel at this job.

Pros

Get entry level sales position. The company has great benefits..

Cons

You will be calling 80-100 times per day for months until you get promoted but it’s a fairly easy job. Can just be boring.
