Pros
None. DBPC (specifically its subsidiary, World Index Magazine) is the worst company that I have ever worked for. Period. Just stay clear.
Cons
- Poor Management/ Leadership: Employees would show up 30 minutes late to work on a regular basis, plagiarize, completely screw up their responsibilities while outright lying about screwing up and management would do nothing about it. I suppose they believe that it's easier to stick it out with these employees rather than try to recruit competent employees. - Untrained/ Unskilled employees: A textbook definition of the term, "minimum viable product". Most of the company's staff are untrained and unqualified to be working at a magazine (World Index Magazine). Most of their writing wouldn't pass in middle school, much less at a publication. The administrative staff from DBPC who oversee the magazine are just as clueless and would pretend to understand what I was talking about when I would explain things to them. - Lack of ethics/ standards: Refer to the previous two points. They would put out issues of the magazine littered with errors, articles without the author’s names, articles with the names of author’s misspelled, ask employees to write fake quotes to include in the magazine that are presented as being from the readers, etc. If a profit was being made, that's all that mattered.
