Pros
- Managers appreciate their employees and treat them with respect. - Unlimited paid time off + lots of company observed holidays - Lots of flexibility around working hours which is great for work life balance, especially for parents - No overtime or after hours code deployments - Good pay and benefits (by East Coast and Midwest standards)
Cons
- There can be a lot of process, unlike small startups where things are more nimble. This is really a pro and a con depending on preference, but certainly not good for people who want to "move fast and break things". - Similarly, the InfoSec team has a lot of restrictions on what can be done on work laptops. Many sites are blocked including music streaming services (I have no idea why they're considered insecure). Many people end up listening to music on their phones while working because of that. - Parts of the org used to use Slack but that was cut off and replaced with MS Teams company wide :-(
