Pros

Erm. The free parking I guess.

Cons

Ah, Customs Support – the workplace where the chaos in management is not a bug but a feature, a daily theatrical production of unorganized excellence. The management's knack for drama reaches its zenith during their marathon "bitch-about-you" meetings, a riveting showcase of professional gossip that would put reality TV to shame. Ever taken a sick day? Brace yourself for a guilt-trip extravaganza! Because here, regardless of your ailment, you'll be made to feel like you've just committed the unforgivable sin of wanting a day off. It's almost as if they have a PhD in making you doubt your own immune system. And let's not forget about mental health – a foreign concept in this utopia of dysfunction. Apparently, they believe that stress and burnout are just mythical creatures invented by lazy employees seeking a break. Now, about the extensive training program – two whole days! That's right, folks. Forget about the luxury of easing into your role; here, you're expected to be a maestro after a mere 48 hours. Sink or swim, and good luck to you if you didn't pack your water wings. Career progression? Oh, it's like finding a unicorn – magical but utterly elusive. Only the chosen ones, the favorites of the management elite, get to ride the mystical career ladder. For the rest of us mere mortals, we're left feeling like extras in a workplace drama with no chance at a leading role. But wait, there's more! This job isn't just any job; it's the "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" they love to remind you of. Because apparently, no other job in the universe could offer the unique blend of chaos, guilt, and limited career prospects quite like Customs Support. In conclusion, Customs Support is not just a workplace; it's a masterclass in the fine art of sarcasm, where every day feels like a cosmic joke played on unsuspecting employees. So, if you're in the market for an experience that's part Shakespearean tragedy, part absurd comedy, look no further – Customs Support awaits, ready to impart its unique brand of professional enlightenment.

Pros

Well established and reputable company

Cons

Despite being a large, multi-country organisation with multiple UK offices, the company only offers statutory maternity pay (SMP) — the legal minimum required by UK law. In contrast, research shows that: - Only about one in four UK employers now provide just the statutory minimum maternity pay - Larger organisations (with 1,000+ employees, such as CSG) are around 95% more likely to provide enhanced maternity pay than smaller ones. Yet Customs Support does not For a large, well-established company, offering only statutory maternity pay places it well below the level of support typically provided by comparable employers. Many competitors and peers — especially large employers — offer enhanced packages such as several months of full pay, which help with recruitment, retention and employee wellbeing. The lack of better maternity support here sends a message that female talent and working parents aren’t prioritised, and makes it harder for women to join, stay, or progress in their careers. This is especially stark given the company’s scale and resources compared to smaller independent employers where statutory maternity pay is more understandable
