- No medical benefits.
- No vacation.
- No clear management guidance.
- Unsafe work floor environments... Saw guards are not used regularly, management tasks people to do unsafe duties which are not practiced in any other wood shop environment.
- Conducts unsound financial practices that do no promote long term growth.. (i.e. this company runs its employees with 10-20 hours of overtime A WEEK with no justification and little regard to company financial health.)
- The manufacturing floor is often cluttered, dirty and unsafe for regular foot traffic. It is one OSHA inspection away from being shut down.
- This shop requires you work the floor using your own tools without compensation... they do NOT specifically tell you that in the interview.
- No employee handbook or company conduct guidelines for new employees.
- No profit sharing (if asked about, management will swear they are working on this, but after 7 years of working on it, it still hasn't happen.)
- The shop floor is not run by management, it is run by shop floor workers who clearly have no manufacturing or management experience. This makes the company seem more like Peyton Place then a place to get work done.
- The quality control system in place here serves only to chastise those who work here. It only serves as a point to be fired over. This method of QC does not actually change the quality of the process but only make quality harder to achieve.
