Pros
None once you get past your first 2 weeks.
Cons
They will slave you to the bone. They will not define full or part time, even though they will lure you in with the promise of full time during the interview. They make it so no one gets vacation time or health insurance. Requesting time off must be done way in advance or else you'er out of luck. It's a revolving door. You are lucky if you get 20 or 25 hours a week. Was told it is a Culver's thing to favor 15-18 year old kids. They get to stand around with their thumb up their butt and anyone older are told to pick up after them. Favoritism is rampant, and favorites get away will murder. Harassed to to work harder and longer while being told others are not doing their job. Management is delusional and would rather spend their day at the beach or out drinking. Racism and sexism runs rampant through management of the store i was in. Remarks, derogatory tones and slurs were all present . Management and owners openly talk about people behind their back. Will even go as far to insult employees in very degrading ways. They will lie about promoting people and the positions they are promoted to. I was told i was a manager, but was never included in meetings or given any bit of managerial responsibility or authority. Unrealistic work expectations. Management constantly undermines each other. They expect Culver's to be your life and expect you to sleep with your phone and be on call 24/7. They will call you in, then send you home after just an hour or two of being there. Management will call you a rock-star and build you up and make think that you are doing good job, then slap you with a write-up saying otherwise. They will also write you up for things like no spirit or loss of passion. 2 days off in a row is not a thing, days off are always split up. Also they will make you come in for an opening shift right after a closing shift the night before. Well rested is something that no one ever is. They are slow to hire even for the simplest of positions. They rather work who they have even if that means you do not get a day off for weeks or even a month at a time. Managers sit in an Ivory tower completely disconnected from whats really going on. Anytime you go to them with an issue or compliant you are gas-lighted, told your wrong, or they will agree with you but nothing will ever come of it. Empty promises and broken promises are the norm. Porters are expected to do the work of 3 people with no real extra incentive. They don't get medical even though they are most likely to get hurt on the job. Not ever enough people scheduled for shifts. Even during season you run a skeleton crew. Online surveys are the only thing important. They wont listen to any other complaints in any other form. Also if the store is tanking managers and owners will force you to put in good reviews to bump the scores to make themselves look good. Anytime something goes wrong the excuse "children work here" is the first to be cited. No one take responsibility for anything. Nothing is ever upper managements fault. Fault is always shifted. Training is very poor. You are lucky if you get 2 full shifts to train. Everyone is expected to train themselves. Learn on the fly. Information is given out on a need to know basis. No one is ever on the same page. Illness is left for you to deal with on your own time. You are expected to work around food even with a fever, while vomiting or injured. They will even try to talk you out of going to the doctor and tout how they work all the time with pneumonia. Also if you call off you must see a doctor which they will call themselves to verify you were there. They will cut your hours if they hear or even assume that you are looking for other work. They will cut them if you are sick and instead of going to work you call off or go to a doctor. They will cut hours for just disagreeing with them. Employees are usually forced out with ever expanding workloads, expectations and harassment. They don't like to fire and if they do they will not sign anything and flip flop on why they fired you or exaggerate what happened. They will do anything to not pay out unemployment benefits Reprimanding is considered being mean, you can not get onto anyone for anything.
