Pros

I really like my coworkers and management. Pay is good for a minimum wage job. Flexible scheduling.

Cons

The crime is horrendous. Daily shoplifters. They all know we can’t do anything but speak to them and freely steal with no consequences. The rent a cop security guards are kids in baggy uniforms who stand around on their phones when management isn’t in sight. They couldn’t deter mice, let alone thugs. Homeless and panhandlers both inside and outside the store harassing customers. Far too many horrible customers. So many are on EBT and the EBT customers tend to throw scene causing fits. Not one shift goes by that’s just a normal uneventful day. It’s one thing to deal with everyday customer service challenges, like people getting mad about pricing. It’s not okay to have people tossing groceries at you that you already rang up because their EBT doesn’t cover something, it’s not okay to have confrontational customers shouting and swearing like they’re in a psych ward when we won’t honor the imaginary “get aggressive and name your price” program these people think we have.

Pros

- busy, engaging job, good for ADHD - union, dictates minimum hrs for part and full time team members, wage and raises, breaks, what mgmt can do in regard to changing your schedule on a whim

Cons

- outdated processes - focused on bottom line over patient care -corporate stingy with hours, management unaware of union contract requirements
