Pros
Fantastic mission driven product. The company tries its best to empower independent farms and fisheries and provides as much source transparency as possible. All around a really cool challenge to take on, especially if one in interested in solving the margin - growth tradeoff in the frozen goods delivery category which is traditionally challenging. Everyone is also passionate and cares about the product which is rare to find at a "middle-aged" startup and I enjoyed working with all different facets of the company. The monthly employee credit I definitely miss dearly :)
Cons
With the shift of focus to profitability, like most startups in 2024, you had to run lean, which places a strain on speed to execution. The tech stack is functional but not the most up to date compared to the competition but their working on it. Full disclosure: I left to pursue an opportunity that I felt had more upside for me personally. Also nobody has found the silver bullet in this industry yet, so there are pivots in strategy, which can be stressful.
