Pros
+ The teams are very lean, so everyone pull their own weight (there's not a lot of bureaucracy or dead weight) + Managers are smart, empathetic people + Live/Work balance is decent – there are times when everyone digs in and works long hours (these are typically only during major releases). For the most part, people are working 8-9 hour days. + Benefits and Vacation policies are excellent + CEO is super smart, and a great guy + Team is actively striving to hire a diverse team + Work is challenging and fast-paced + Team is mostly in their late 20's/30's – experienced, professional individuals + There are no egos. Really.
Cons
– In typical startup fashion, things can be disorganized and (at times) chaotic – Fast-paced environment. Could be frustrating to some folks (or invigorating to others) – The company is a funded startup – so it's a constant hustle to prove ourselves as a company and make sure that we're still in business in the next 6 months. Best for people who are comfortable with some level or risk, and a drive to improve the company/product.
