Pros
If you are able to get into the training program w/o a contract, then go for it. Get the training, learn as many positions as possible, get some experience, make connections in the industry and then leave if you are smart. The parent company is great and offers some outstanding benefits.
Cons
Most middle and upper management are only interested in themselves. If you're not in the inner sanctum & have any smarts, you are sure to go nowhere & not be recognized for any meaningful contributions you may make even if your agency and station people think you're wonderful. Upper mgmt will reward those they favor & anyone not the flavor of the month, can expect nothing. If you fall into that category, don't expect to ever get paid what you're worth; that's a well known strategy they have to get you out the door, nor do they ever have your back if need be. Lastly, computer systems are very old, and it's all you can do to get the job done properly.
