Cons
Cox Business has a less than colaborative inter-office culture with Cox outside account representaives most ardent competition their own Cox inside representatives in a dog-eat-dog mentality. Cox Business VP's look past the employee bickering and skirmishes as healthy competition while the yearly salesperson turn-over exceeds most any other industry salesperson turnover. Salepeople find themselves fired, quitting, or manuvering elsewhere within the company to survive. The Cox Business department is a 'CULT' with employees fearing reprisal telling you straight to your face how wonderful it is to work at Cox Business but cornered alone would tell a different, unhappy story regarding most of the employees within this group. In todays economic downturn, the ‘CULT’ mentality lives at a protected level, employees anxiety up, with very few options to find other jobs and many taking medical (mental) leave, searching job boards constantly, desperate to get out, but at the same time fearing losing their Cox income & benefits while enduring their position. Like a cult, the Cox Business perception is drummed into everyone, making it difficult to trust any other employee; hence no real cultural change to pursue.
