Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. One of the challenges in a few of the departments within the Logistics division has been training. After years of growth and learning best practices, we placed our efforts into developing a well-rounded training program for new hires. One primary focus of Tom B., Director of Carrier Development, is to lead a new Logistics Management Trainee program. The new program is aimed at bringing on long term career minded individuals looking to get a 360 view of the logistics industry and really get serious about starting a career here.
Throughout the program, trainees receive 40 hours of one on one classroom training where they learn about each side of our business and what tools and knowledge they need to be successful in their final role. Each trainee is then put into the driver’s seat of each of the three main departments that make up sales and operations. Through this method they are not only trained on what their jobs will be, but also how to work more effectively with other departments.
The results and reviews from trainees we’ve had so far have been very good. We provide the resources, technology and encouragement. It’s up to the new hires to bring their hard work and dedication. Tom consistently checks in with trainees during, and after completion of the program to show that he is open and available for any questions.
Regarding your other comments, every level of management up to the President of the division has an open door policy and all employees are encouraged to talk with management if they have any questions or concerns. Please use this resource, your opinion is important to us.
That said, thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Communication is one of our highest priorities and helps us to continually grow as a company. I encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts with Tom. He would be happy to discuss any questions or suggestions with you.
