Pros

Great people and attempting to leverage technology to make them greater

As a smaller player in the scene, sometimes the overall instability of the market can have a bigger impact on us than on larger entities.

Pros

I was fully remote: working from home isn't super important for me, but it has its perks. Daily, I stayed on longer than the typical 9 to 5 because of time zone differences, but I was fine with that. I didn't abuse the unlimited PTO, I stuck to the standard four-weeks off plus holidays, but I'm assuming that if there was some pressing personal situation, you'd be able to use the unlimited PTO and work something out with the people on your team. Pay was more than fair and they were receptive to salary negotiation at the beginning (mind you, this was back in 2023 and the economy of 2025 is different to say the least). The first year, we had quarterly meetings at headquarters in Austin, TX where it was enjoyable to finally meet everyone in person. Even the IT-engineering folks don't necessarily make you feel clueless when you ask for help, like at most companies.

Cons

I could see the writing on the wall approximately four months before the January 2025 lay-offs. There was one particular issue, a rather big one, that I kept asking about every week and it was never resolved through the lay-off date. Thus, I'm assuming that the issue was outstanding and resolved partially through the downsizing and other avenues.
