Pros

Right in Downtown Akron, tons of places to eat and you can get to Starbucks on your break if that's your thing. Pretty popular to transfer from different departments. If you want to learn more than one aspect of the D.M.E. world this is good place for that! They do move people out of customer service and there are different levels and forms of customer service so if that is all you have experience in but don't want to do that forever, it is a great place if you want a way to "get your foot in the door" regardless of having a degree. Insurance has HIGH deductibles no matter which plan you choose but the monthly premiums are low compared to other places. Overtime is pretty common for those who want it, if you're hourly this may be something you are looking for in a job.

Cons

Average Pay and low raises. You have to write your own review, i.e. you are forced to make a list of things to improve on and things that you are good at. You are also required to set your own goals for how to fix your "weak points". This is done yearly and your raise is supposedly based on whether or not you meet your goals and fix your "weak points". I found this practise extremely odd and there is minimal management invlovement or direction. There is also no communication or oganization outside of the customer service department which is very robotic and controlled. (example would be that you have 7 minutes to use the restroom and return to work) Recently they hired a new Branch Director who seems enthusiastic and like he could possibly make improvements to communication, work flow, systems, and overall morale. I'm not sure what the "turn around time" is however, people are constantly coming and going. There are some in each department though who have been with the company for several years. Management is very short and distant even with direct employees. Multiple directors here so you would think that they would each have a close connection and knowledge of what is going on in the department however, that is not the case. Most seem to not be interested in their employees as people at all. Lastly, this is the only company I have ever worked for with such limited time off. Whether or not you work directly with patients, you are expected to work or use your PTO for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years. They also require you to work Good Friday which was new to me but I have been told this is not a common day off for most companies.
