Pros

Before Trader gutted and sterilized the company, the culture was pretty good. There was a real sense of camaraderie among Convertus employees.

Cons

Work for this company if you want but do not trust Trader managers and HR, regardless of how friendly and caring they may present themselves on the surface. It's superficial. Their only priority is to protect Trader's bottom line. You can read from other reviews about how Trader has handled the acquisition and restructuring of Convertus. What I can add to that is a sense of general dismay at how cold and calculated the process has been. Convertus staff were given a false sense of security. Staff were reassured about their future and job-security with the company, while Trader was obviously planning to terminate their permanent contracts once a specific project was delivered. The loyalty and commitment of many staff who stayed with the company to deliver the project was disregarded. It's apparent now that Trader were planning the redundancies for some time and were merely giving the illusion of security to protect themselves. It's distressing in hindsight to realize that the reassurances given by Trader management at Convertus 'Town Hall' AMAs were straight-up lies, told at a point that they were actively planning huge layoffs. Trader HR are soulless, emotionless, tactless. Witnessing how they deal with staff is distressing. You're nothing but a number to them, don't be foolish enough to think otherwise. Pros

The team used to be a tight nit, fast working team. Dogs in the office.

Cons

Everything. Since the takeover by Trader, the company has been in steady decline, to the point where 1/3 of the team were let go. I have never seen a company so mismanaged at every level. This company won’t be here in 6 months. If I was to speak to a potential new hire, I would tell them to run for the hills, but it’s very clear that there is going to be no such thing as a “new hire” in this company, given that Trader are slowly winding the company down. Entire teams have been moved to Trader head office. The rest have been cut to their bare bones. They are no longer looking for new business. We can’t even support our existing client base. The offices have moved to a space 1/3 of the size, and if that isn’t an indicator of what is to come, then I don’t know what is. Whether you are a prospective hire, or a potential customer, stay away from this business. It will be the best decision you could make.
