Pros

Contanda has been leading the charge for just under 3 years; however, Westway Terminals has been in business for 60 years which makes Contanda one of the oldest start ups in existence. Contanda is a solid Company with good benefits and growth opportunity. Corporate staff is relatively small with a real family feel. Company is focused on hiring the right people for the job, and I feel that the company does a good job at identifying those key individuals. Management team is super supportive when it comes to suggestions or out of the box ideas. Company is very focused on achieving objectives that have been clearly communicated by our leader and CEO. Contanda's success is INEVITABLE .

Pros

Half Day Fridays. Some people are nice

Cons

-Constant Turnover - Commercial department (CEO’s pet) keeps losing people every month -Poor Leadership - CEO talks big in town Hall meetings. Paints a rosy picture on how the company is growing and then walks back to his office and lays off more people. -CEO handpicks every single person from director level up and then micromanages them. Capital Projects Review Committee Meeting is a joke. It's mainly used by the CEO to get a pulse on the gossip in the office and feed his ego and play favorites. -No upward movement and no chance of upward movement. -Always need to watch your back, commercial and finance leadership will sell your soul to the CEO and then you will get laid off. -CEO just bought the office next door, renovated it, put more cubicles and offices and then laid off 6 more employees during Thanksgiving. Classic case of not knowing what the right hand is doing to the left. -CEO also picks and chooses what color of cables the IT should use, which employee should sit in what cubicle. Looks like a lot of free time is available. -Favoritism. It so gross that it reeks from the CEO during monthly birthday celebrations. -HR department is overstaffed. One person draws huge salary only to do orientation of new employees and then terminate them a year later. A robot can do that. -If you get a job here, then start looking in another year because layoff will be coming.
