Pros

Nice staff as far as my experience went. My team seemed nice, at least on the surface. A paycheck I guess. Plenty of parking. Other than those things that is it.

Cons

Clock watchers- I have never worked at a place that makes you clock in to every task you complete whether that's emailing, your job, your breaks. If you messed up and clocked into the wrong thing you had to do paperwork. Hello!? If you are that worried about your money hire contractors and have them give you an estimate and bill you for their time. This isn't a call center and it's a waste of time, insulting and shows how cheap the company is run. When you're so focused on clocking in and out how the heck are you focused at all? Surprised we didn't have to clock in for bathroom breaks. Micromanagement: the managers aren't really managing anything because he is always over their shoulders. So they are never trusted to take direction. Does not trust employees to use their experience and skill set to contribute. It has to be his way always even if he's wrong, blames others when things don't turn out right. He will chastise people in front of others if they don't have the right answers he's looking for. I honestly felt bad sitting in on meetings and watch a supervisor get ripped apart for no valid reason other than to make her look stupid and to "educate" her. Micromanages even the smallest things - like looking at your cell phone because he thinks you're texting. Company itself: No focus, no direction. About the bottomline, not quality or growth. He has pet projects that he wants completed right now at the same time with not enough staff to complete. Unreasonable deadlines as a result. Don't start a new project when the product you have sucks, looks outdated and doesn't work.Figure out what product you want to promote and see it through completion before you jump on the next one. I don't care how long you've been in business, you should be in a better position than you are now if you actually knew how to run it right. I've worked for large corporations like SAIC, URS Corp and Petco. This was a joke as were the critiques I got on MY job-- I've been doing this particular job for the past 10 years with success as a freelancer so I found it comical to get criticized for my work when I've worked for several clients who have been thankful and praising my work. No clear directions on how I was supposed to do my job, as they were constantly changing. I only took this job because I wanted to quickly save up money for home improvements and test the corporate world again...What was I thinking? nah I'll stick to working for myself. He cemented my stance that I can NEVER work for anyone else again. Pay is a joke. Got paid more 10-16 years ago doing less. Oh and no direct deposit. Get with the modern times. You're wasting your time if you interview here unless you like being micromanaged or are desperate for a job. If you do accept it, get out as soon as you can. I had an inkling when I interviewed, should've followed my gut.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you felt supported by your team members and appreciated some aspects of your time here. We also understand that not every role, company, or work environment is the right fit for every individual, and we sincerely wish you the best in finding a position that aligns well with your career goals and work style. At Computer Market Research, we’ve operated continuously in both California and Nevada since 1984, building a stable and longstanding business serving a specialized group of high-volume clients — many of whom have partnered with us for over 15 years. The nature of this work requires a high level of accountability, focus, and time management to ensure projects stay on schedule and within client budgets. For this reason, we have processes in place — including accurate time tracking — to keep operations running smoothly and prevent scope creep. While this level of structure is essential to meeting client needs, we understand it may feel different from other workplaces and isn’t the right fit for everyone. We also want to clarify that our company is not a startup, though we maintain a small-business culture where each team member’s contributions are visible and meaningful. With that comes both opportunity and responsibility. The fast-paced nature of our environment may limit extended downtime, such as coffee breaks or casual coworker chats, as our focus must remain on serving our clients effectively. We value open feedback and are always looking for ways to improve, while balancing the expectations of our clients and the needs of our team. Culture fit is incredibly important to us, and in some cases, it becomes clear that a role or environment isn’t the right match — for either the employee or the company. In those situations, we strive to part ways respectfully while wishing each individual success in their career journey. Thank you again for the contributions you made during your time here. We remain proud of our team’s dedication and the long-term relationships we’ve built with our clients and employees over the years.

Pros

Flexible Schedule, Interesting Work, Lots of Perks - Del is a great guy and treats his teams like family.

Cons

This job is not for everyone. You perform and produce, or you move along and find something else. This is a high value boutique software firm - it's easy to think there's not a lot going on here - but there actually is. It's easy to look at the relatively chill Las Vegas office and think it's a chill, boring place... but that's not the case... you have to have your finger on the pulse of what's happening not only here, but also in San Diego, There's a lot happening behind the scenes. You have to be smart enough to figure that out. It's B2B so if you don't have that experience you have to learn quick. You've got to be accountable for your own success. Nobody is going to hold your hand while you figure it out - just figure it out. If you don't have a good level of self direction and accountability, this is not the place for you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations and wish you the best of luck in finding a role that aligns well with your skills and career goals. At Computer Market Research, we’ve been proudly serving a niche group of high-volume clients since 1984, with many client relationships lasting over 15 years. As a boutique software company, we hold our team to a high standard so we can deliver the level of service our clients expect. Our Las Vegas corporate office is smaller and focused on strategy and client success, which can sometimes feel separate from the day-to-day operations of our product and development teams. That’s why staying connected and engaged across the business is so important. We also strive to provide a quiet, collaborative environment with perks like free parking and a close-knit, family-like culture for those who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
