Pros
Great place to learn if you're young and need experience.
Cons
They were just bought out by a huge French corporation after the owner said," I will never sell my company." If you plan on working an offshift it's not so bad. All the toxic individuals in the weld department are on 1st shift. The literal worst ppl in the weld shop are not only protected but promoted to trainers, absolutely ridiculous. If they don't like you, you'll eventually be pushed out. Any mistakes you make will be used against you to take money away from you in your review. Great things you do are mostly never appreciated. The more you learn there the worse you get treated. You have to fight like hell to get the raises you deserve. I was the highest credentialed welder in the shop and not even the highest paid, absolute joke. There's no actual leadership in the weld shop so the most toxic individuals basically have run the culture into the ground. At one point there were 2 weld shops and it was a fantastic setup. Eventually all the welders were combined into a tiny shop, no room for parts, and constant traffic where everyone in the company walks through and takes "snap shots" of the welders and creates issues. Probably one of the biggest bone headed setups I've ever seen. People who don't know anything about welding made this decision with 0 input from the welders. Most of the highly skilled individuals have left due to bad treatment and anyone still there that is skilled is only there because of dayshift. Truly a sad situation because if the right ppl were listened to, and toxic ppl were fired, crt would be the best place to work.
