Pros

Employees below management level are great. Robots are cool

Benefits taken away every year, below competitive pay, unreasonable expectations for the job you are given regardless of the position you hold, no performance reviews even if you do want to better yourself for the benefit of the company, terrible communication from the top level of the company.

Working for a small start-up company can be very different (both good and bad) than working for older, larger businesses. Some of the programs for things like performance reviews, quality certifications and training are not well established and can be difficult to implement. And like many companies our size, we have struggled with getting those programs started, but we are working on it and with the help of our employees will continue to improve. Some assume that only large businesses can offer strong compensation packages with high salaries, large bonuses, greater allowance benefits, and other perks. We may be a small business but, here at CTG, we put taking care of our people as a top priority offering our teammates competitive compensation packages. We also made the decision to partner with a PEO to provide HR and a full slate of benefits to employees. Employees have options for medical and dental insurance, with CTG currently paying 75% of the cost for employee only or 60% for employee/spouse/children/families. CTG pays completely for vision, short-term and long-term disability and $50K of life insurance for every employee. We also match up to 5% of 401k contribution dollar for dollar. We have always offered a set number of weeks of PTO based on amount of time at the company. But this year we wanted to give employees more control over their PTO. Our employees work hard, so we wanted to make sure they also had plenty of time to recharge on a schedule that works for them, so now all full-time employees have Unlimited PTO. As a small company we can be more flexible and during the last year of the pandemic we have worked especially hard to give our employees the flexibility they needed including working at home, flex scheduling and LOAs so they could take care of their children, families and health. And, I promise, the company truck is not taking away anything from any employee and is used in the business for picking up materials and delivering systems.
