Pros
You really get a great sense of community working so closely with the clients.
Cons
1. Poor and distant management 2. Underscheduling and understaffing (you wont get 40 hours but you will be overworked on the shifts you do get due to no partner) 3. No consistent schedule for most employees 4. No real rules regarding time off leading to some weeks having way too many staff and some weeks having one person running the entire building 5. Little precaution or care for staff regarding exposure to COVID - I was exposed and not told until 3 days later while already on my shift (which I was expected to still work without a negative result) at which point I could have already exposed my entire family and shelter residents. 6. Expensive benefits 7. Very low pay for the work - below that of fast food restaurants in the area for SSA's 8. Blatant disregard for privacy that led to resignation. There multiple instances of other staff and management going through my emails without consent...I'm not sure if this is something they do with all staff but I found out after one manager had accidentally left a draft open in my personal email taking notes on what I had in my deleted emails.
