Pros

I've never worked somewhere with an atmosphere as good as CommonTime. All the management team are really approachable and open to new ideas and feedback, and I've always felt involved and valued as an employee. A great benefits package to boot. The technology and product offering from CommonTime is really strong and is well received by customers and is constantly adapting to be bigger and better. Regular company updates keep everyone informed with how were performing commercially and communicate new technical updates really well. All in all, CommonTime is a well ran, professional yet relaxed working environment which invests in its employees and promotes from within. A great example of an SME doing it right.

Cons

The mobile app development market is competitive. There are several businesses out there providing the type of service CommonTime offers so differentiating yourselves can be tricky. With a lot of focus on generating Public Sector sales, there are also challenges around operating in this market with the well-publicised spending cuts in effect.

Pros

They're always looking at the latest technologies. They're ambitious. They hire highly skilled people. They write their entire tech stack themselves, leaving them in complete control over what's happening and where - this keeps the job really interesting. It's a phenomenal benefits package for a company of this size. Very flexible working hours too.

Cons

They're overly optimistic on their projects and customer promises, and the staff regularly take the brunt of mopping the mess up and making it work. Since it never actually "goes wrong" it never gets fixed. It remains quite a high pressure environment to work in, with lots of "once we're over this project" style promises.
