Pros
For the longest time as a outside sales rep the very little oversight was the best part. Day to day travel ment that you could make stops for personal errands when needed. As long as you hit your sales goals, and kept your buyers happy, there was no issues.
Cons
The increase of oversight and micro managing everything from time in accounts, market surveys, and sales goals that you have no control over (one department needing to hit a goal that you have no role in, to get your personal performance pay) has led the job to be far worse. To the point that some reps will skip a goal knowing that others won't pull their weight. The labor crews below us being so under paid they do the absolute Minimum if they even show up or continue to work in the first place. The lack of labor to support the sales teams means that sales teams will order less to make our jobs easier. Set of a hundred and ten percent every month, we'll find a way to hit a hundred percent on the dot nothing more nothing less.
