Pros

Prior to acquisition, Bergmann Associates was a great place to work.

Cons

Upon being acquired by Colliers Engineering and Design, the compensation, benefits, bonus structure and growth potential were all significantly reduced, Despite assurances that all would remain the same, benefits specifically 401K, all had increases in cost and reduction in benefits. Similarly, salary increases in Rochester were less than those in the NJ office. Promotions are also given to NJ based employees at a significantly higher rate (even accounting for the office size differences).

Cons

-Impactful projects are much fewer than 'bread & butter' projects -Commercial program work can pigeon-hole junior staff / limit skill-building -Inconsistent staffing (hurry up & wait) & management style between PMs -Growth from acquisitions prioritized over efficiency / streamlining of existing and new company knowledge & standards -Corporate bureaucratic processes can be frustrating
