Pros

No new pros. I like the fact we are provided top quality MacBooks, Keyboards & Headsets.

Cons

I decided to take some time to update my last review. I truly believed that Cohere was the place for me, now I’m not so sure and this is why. Sneaky Tactics- Recently, every single Data Entry specialist (temp to perm) were let go, based on volume, it’s January, almost no notice and they were told to keep it a secret... as a permanent employee that makes me worry IF we are next, since leadership failed at predicting how many employees were actually needed and the fact that it was some secret society so us perms wouldn’t worry about the companies stability! 🚩WE ARE WORRIED🚩 And yes, I’ve personally seen people supporting rooms with no training as only been working for a few months( I asked).. and supports filled with knowledge go back on the phones because leadership didn’t like they have a backbone. Lack Of Structure- I have an issue with the fact there is very little structure related to which function you work, ( because you spend all day on camera no worries there you are ultra micromanaged) but you don’t have a home... I also feel like CONSTANT supervision should be for those that need it like most PERM WAH environments. For example audio only unless you need something!!! You also never feel like you excel, as Cohere will not let you, bc the moment you build enough confidence they move you, as a result, most people are not good or great at anything but know a little about everything. Employees cry for consistency DAILY! At this point there should be teams of people who do a job well. That way if you do well you have someplace to go, something to keep as a goal, right now you can be great and be stuck on phones like a no experience entry level order taker... most of us have years of medical experience, so it’s literally a slap in the face. To sum it up, one moment you are here, then there, one day you can take time off, the next you can’t, one day you can do something the next day it’s an issue, and nothing is clearly written out.. I feel like it’s very difficult to land a higher paying role, even if you know more and have much more skill than leadership in a similar role. Pay- $18, but $22-$25 is reality, to all those that envy support, they have more work helping you and ARE NOT paid more for it, and for some it’s super inconsistent and frustrating yet integral to move up, and regarding support, I’ve personally asked for someone to support more because I felt comfortable with her as many of my room mates, they only have her covering for other less knowledgeable supports and again very sporadically. Worst some supports that always seem to have a place, have become stagnant they act as if they don’t want to help. More leads need to be hired and those leads permanently support rooms, room support should be someone who helps the leads...when needed. Drama- Sadly, my only issue has been with a newer lead, she has been with Cohere for a while, she is rude, unprofessional and recently lied to make herself seem better,. Granted. we work around a lot of women and egos, but her ego is larger than her performance.. I stay away from her and have specific people I ask for help, everyone knows she is lazy and entitled... I’ve only seen here to watch rooms , and she is the most unprofessional. It’s a lot of jealously, based on the speed in which some of us progress. Everyone watches everyone else’s business. The schedule should be private and for people that need to know where you are and when. You can even see who calls in.. The schedule shows what you are doing. And people constantly compare themselves. COMPASSION: I will say Cohere for the most part worked with me, however, I wish things were written out and covered better, it’s a global pandemic, it’s scary to imagine you either come to work sick or don’t get paid while trying to care for family, or yourself. It’s honestly not enough PTO paid leave options, And definitely not enough compassion.

Pros

Remote position, effective AI tools

Cons

Aggressive productivity standards enacted after being employed for a short time: 2 months. Low pay compared to similar work at other legacy insurance companies. You are told when training that as long as you follow the Work Instructions and ensure doing the prior authorizations correctly- you will be fine. But Work Instructions are NOT updated, then it is challenging to find the answer. Slack is used for searching and asking questions, or visiting one of the multiple Zoom rooms. You are on camera for entire shift in a Zoom room. It seemed to me leadership does not care about precision and doing the job thouroughly but more so doing as many cases as possible- yet you are audited to do cases a certain way and that certain way differs from one Subject Matter Expert (SME) to another. The nurses are teaching the AI chatbot how to get smarter and take over doing the simpler cases, But the chatbot assists the nurses as well all while the nurses are teaching the chatbot.
