Pros

A couple years back I could have listed lots of pros but as of today I think all I can say is the pay is very good for shop work, the basic wage is £9.50 an hour which is one of the better paying retail jobs

Cons

Removal of Team managers (assistant managers) as this stunts colleage progression, constant lack of hours despite the store performing well, constant issues with the work load completed even if you are understaffed you are expected to finish the same amount of work as you would normally do with a full team, in our store all management struggle to find time for a break which usually results in not getting one (maybe a quick sandwich for 2-3mins out of the hour we are legally allowed), only being allowed to take 30min break for an 8 hour shift despite legally being allowed an hour. The list goes on sadly, I used to love working for coop and have been working with them for a long time now but me and all of my colleagues are unhappy most of the time now

Pros

Team got on well, hours weren't particularly harsh (pay not particularly impressive either)

Cons

Overworked due to corporate ruthlessly cutting hours (while hiring more staff?), generally piling on more and more work to the store team without considering time constraints, absolutely no opportunity for advancement while a store manager is already there
