Pros

Absolutely nothing! Just the worst ever. If I could rate it ZERO, I would have.

Cons

- The CEO and COO are the cheapest people on this planet. They make their employees drive across the country with the robot in the back of their SUV. (I was asked to drive back to the office while I had COVID and the COO said take an advil and drive you’ll be fine) - Zero empathy and concern for employees - The robots have so many issues and you get yelled at if it doesn’t work properly. They lie to the customer about their robot performance and then criticize employees for not delivering on it.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Operating during COVID created unusual constraints for both employees and the company, and we did our best to balance safety, legal restrictions, and business needs. Travel decisions at that time were shaped by state and federal guidelines, which restricted air travel for individuals who had recently tested positive. In this situation, we covered hotel accommodations so the employee could rest and recover without traveling while sick. Once they were feeling better, but still unable to fly due to regulations, driving was the only available option. Since then, we’ve established clearer travel policies and field-support resources to avoid confusion in exceptional circumstances like this.

Pros

Civ is a really exciting company to be part of. The team is smart, collaborative, and genuinely cares about building something meaningful. There’s a lot of opportunity to learn, take ownership, and contribute in a meaningful way.

Cons

Like many growing companies, processes are still evolving, so there can be some ambiguity at times and things can move quickly.

Pros

I worked at the company for about two years and overall had a really great experience. It’s an amazing place to be if you love working with cool robotics technology and want to actually see your work out in the field making a difference. One of the biggest things I noticed is how much the culture and the general vibe in the office improved over time. When I first joined it was already a good place, but as the company grew, the founders really put in the effort to make it a more positive and enjoyable environment. You can feel the difference — everything runs a lot smoother now and I genuinely enjoyed coming to work every day. I’m also excited for the direction the company is heading. They’re working on new technologies, expanding into new areas, and you really feel like you’re part of something that’s growing fast. If I wasn’t moving out of state, I would have definitely stayed.

Cons

If I had to mention cons, I’d say that sometimes you might need to put in an extra hour or two to finish something urgent, which is pretty normal for a growing startup. Depending on your role, there can also be some travel involved. When I joined, they didn’t have a 401k yet, but they recently added it once they reached the required number of employees.
