Pros

-Doing great work (helping kids stay in school and on track to graduate) -Amazing, incredible people: I can't stress this enough. The people here are phenomenal: supportive, caring, fun, friendly, smart, diverse. -Working in an environment where progressive thinking and positive change is encouraged. -Working where you can try, but if you make mistakes, people help you build back up, instead of treat you as a failure.

Cons

As a Senior Corps Member: -It is easy to overwork and be overworked. -It is easy to feel disconnected from the broad work (working with kids). -Pay is small (but not unlivable). In general: -It can be thankless and difficult work. -Long hours is normal.

Pros

You do very meaningful work and the staff truly care about you and what you are doing.

Cons

School placements can be quite far from where you live, and the days are long (7:30 am - 5 pm). Often is exhausting, but you stay for the kids.
