Pros

Benefits are good and partners are pleasant

Cons

Maintenance partners are poorly paid for all the responsibilities they have and the workload they get. To top it all, the supposedly safety measures introduced make it difficult to get the work done quickly and efficiently. Most are more afraid of getting terminated for not being 100% correct with LOTO procedures than not being able to do the work. We are probably the only company in the world that requires long sleeve shirts, safety glasses and hearing protection in order to turn on lights in the building. Cintas is more concerned about fines than employees working conditions. Salaried partners are abused by having to work long hours to reach goals. The longer hours result in salaried partners getting less pay per hour than hourly partners. Supervisors are the worst off having extreme responsibilities and very little recognition for the work they do. Increases in pay are pathetic. A long term employee getting maximum increases over a few years ends up getting less pay than new hires.

Pros

The Commission is great. You can make good money in this place.

Cons

While the pay is good, the culture here is not. It is incredibly restrictive. It is very much a “Do what I want you to do, how I want you to do it, and when I want you to do it” management style. They constantly remind you of how much money you can make there which gets annoying after a while. The service team and the sales team are constantly at odds. Not just Cintas, but the industry in general is very sleazy, much like a car dealership. They screw over their smaller customers with enormous year over year price increases. I know a particular salesperson who is having a lot of success their who has no problem lying to his customers, and never answering their calls when the problems come. As long as he keeps the deals coming Cintas does not care. Corporate greed is on full display at Cintas. The Management Development program for college graduates seems like a great opportunity. If you are a young college graduate and you get the opportunity, I would recommend that.
