Pros
The medical benefits are fantastic. Some can make decent money if gifted a route that’s in a thriving area.
Cons
The earning potential predominately depends on the route you’re given. Cintas rarely allows people to change routes, so you’ll be stagnant both professionally and financially if you end up on a bad route. You could easily make 80k plus on one route or 50k on another. The pay is predominantly commission and bonus based, so route location and size are crucial. That also heavily impacts your ability to get promoted or earn a raise. KPIs are tied to sales, so if you’re not hitting your numbers your base pay stays the same. Manager trainees and outside hires will also be favored for the role you’re trying to get promoted into. The company will also encourage unethical sales practices. The pressure intensifies if it’s the middle of the month and numbers are lagging. The pay is odd. It’s salaried plus hourly, but you’ll never get approved overtime, so your expectation should be low salary and commission.
