Really appreciate the feedback and the perspective. The seasonality of our business is, quite honestly, one of my least favorite parts of it. Spring Break is brutal, especially in years like this one where the breaks are offset. We've talked a LOT about this internally over the years, and a lot of the feedback we've gotten is that PTO was the preferred way to handle it so people can decide when and how they want to use it. Other advantage of PTO is it's yours and in a bank, so if you ever moved on from Choicelunch and didn't use it, it's paid out as income. I'd still MUCH rather just have an our routes running and keep our people coming to work though. Management definitely shouldn't be playing it shady though, and I'd love to learn more about your experience. Feel free to hit me up direct too on email if you want. Don't want to publish the address in a public forum, but it should be in the handbook, or you can ask any of the managers. Just tell them Justin asked you to reach out to him but you need his email address! Seriously down to talk and get feedback at any time!

Pros

When people say that a company is mission-based, I ask if they have heard of Choicelunch. It’s a very unique company culture built on the shoulders on some very smart, talented, and driven individuals who actually understand the value of working hard together. It is not to say that we always agreed on which direction to go or that the plans necessarily worked out as planned, but I generally found people to be open to trying out new ideas. It’s a place where leaving your pride at the door is simply preferred, whether it came to you naturally or not. Feeding busy families is a tougher business than one would expect. If you want food to be healthy, economic, and timely, you have to be truly creative but also honest, and willing to change with the times from the provider end. If more customers actually knew the lengths to which decisions were deliberated over and made, they would be speechless. The organization is not perfect, but it does strive for excellence with integrity. And that does mean something when you’re on a mission! It was a great place to work and grow both professionally and personally. I worked there for a few months shy of 5 years, and would recommend it without reserve.

Cons

There may have been times when there were probably too many ideas out there, but this company is all about putting everything out on the table so to speak. This may not be the place for everyone, but if it is, it's an ever awesome place to work and be!
