Pros

- Innovative atmosphere that promotes a frequent exchange of ideas. - A great product mindset with the team focusing on the end-user and building the best experience. - Company philosophy of always exceeding user and partner expectations, which positively impacts personal and professional growth. - Receptive to new ideas and improvements, giving a sense of value and contribution to team members. - Located in the vibrant and dynamic environment of Taguspark.

Cons

- Balancing act between being a product company and a service company sometimes detracts attention from existing products. - Forced to focus less on existing customers of our games due to emphasis on services. - Shift to remote work has altered the work atmosphere vs the collaborative spirit of in-person. No PS4 at lunch :(

Pros

Portuguese video game company In theory the product has(had) a lot of potential In theory there would be room for collaboration and insights influencing the product roadmap

Cons

Management is rather erratic, completely lacks focus and iterates too quickly before getting to any conclusive results about the decisions being made. Lack of transparency on most processes and unhealthy work environment. Work-life balance is awful as it is based on a 9-hour-long workday minimum. The least flexibility sometimes needed to address personal issues is frowned upon. It is asked a lot more from people than what is offered. There's a disparity between the values that are taught in the beginning and what is followed. Punitive environment versus "share your opinion" makes for one of the biggest disappointments.

Chilltime Response

Dear former colleague, we thank you for you taking the time to share your feedback. We are strong believers in a proactive and open environment where all team members can identify problems and provide solutions to improve our games, not only do we value it, but we also encourage it. It’s with this mindset that we built the Chillcubator (Chilltime Incubator), where anyone can share problems and solutions for our games that is openly accessible to all team members and discussed in the weekly Product meeting. A feature has resulted in hundreds of significant iterations and improvements over the past years. As an innovation company, that has built a game and business from zero, we have grown to understand how critical it is to pay attention to our customers and core metrics, if an important component of gameplay experience is showing poor performance/conversions, we know that we have to proactively build, measure and iterate until we reach the relevant milestones, this is what enabled us to build a bootstrapped company in such a tough industry. “Keep innovating - See what should have been done” is one of our three core values, already for some years. The Chilltime team has grown into a very healthy work environment, a place where great people have the opportunity to focus on building great games and also have such a friendly and harmonious environment. To the best of our ability, to keep this great environment, we hire for both for technical capabilities and cultural fit, we look for good people, kind people. I believe that this was a mutual learning experience for both, one we can both grow from and we wish you all the best in your future.

Pros

Ability to participate in management overviews, OKRs, strategic decisions of the company. Work on and learn in diverse range of products like apps, games and websites. Freedom to suggest ideas to add value to the products and discuss their viability. Range of tools and office facilities that make my work day smooth on a friendly environment full of interesting people. Taguspark has great services and facilities, office has a great view.

Cons

Public transport to Taguspark is tough for those without a car. It’s a small team, so it’s possible that you have more than one OKR (Objective and Key Result) per quarter to focus on.
