Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. As an agile and growing business, we operate in an environment where adaptability and collaboration are essential. Our teams are made up of people who are capable of multitasking, working closely together, and supporting one another to deliver meaningful outcomes. That said, we recognise that this way of working can feel demanding if not supported in the right way, and we take that feedback seriously. We are actively investing into strengthening our leadership capability, improving communication, and building a people experience that feels supportive, inclusive, and transparent. Creating a culture that feels like a community— trust one another, and form genuine connections—is something we care about and continue to evolve. Feedback like this helps us reflect and improve, and we remain committed to learning from past experiences as we grow. We appreciate your honesty and wish you every success in your future role.

Pros

I have enjoyed working for Chesamel. From a career standpoint, I have had very high demand roles in the past and I find that the workload is much more realistic here. I enjoy the work that I have been doing, and I love working from home and having flexibility. I have also found my Google team members to be really great to work with. The Chesamel team has been incredible. I have gotten some really amazing coaching. They have also been amazingly compassionate in times that were hugely stressful in my life. I have never had a workplace treat me so kindly, and it has been extremely meaningful to me.

Cons

This is a contract role, so you are not a Google employee. For me, this doesn't matter. I still feel like a Google employee in many respects. and it's great for your resume. Contract roles are common at Google, though.

Pros

Exposure to Google projects and people. If you want to be heads down as a contractor and see it for what it is, you can use to move onto the next best thing.

Cons

Very misleading interview process - they are a glorified recruitment agency that contract out to Google. You do not work for Google, and have no perks whatsoever - like being a 2nd class citizen vs actual employees. Bear this in mind as you go through the process. The internal "benefits" and "culture" are minimal. Management seems to have no idea what they are doing - things change constantly. A weirdly toxic environment to be in at times.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we are always open to feedback as an opportunity for growth. Pros I’m pleased that you highlighted our client base. We’ve worked hard to partner with some exceptional clients and we’re so proud of the awesome projects that we get to work on every day. Cons I am really sorry that you feel you were misled during the interview process. We always explain to candidates how we operate as a consultancy, one of the ways of which is embedding our specialists on projects. We never claim that our consultants work directly for the client. We are reviewing our processes and candidate packs following your feedback to see where any miscommunication might have occurred so that we can put this right. I’m sorry if this led to you having incorrect expectations. In terms of the benefits and perks, we have been working to enhance our benefits package over the past 12 months, acting on employee feedback. We are proud that our package is very competitive with industry standards. Thank you for sharing your view of the management team and changing plans. We are an agile business and we do sometimes change our plans, but it doesn't imply a change in our overall direction. We can certainly do better at communicating these changes to our wider team and this is something we will take on board. Thank you again for your feedback. Best, Suzanne
