Pros

The work itself is easy.

Cons

It's very poorly managed. The owners of the company are real big on nepotism I've been through two storm managers now they're both completely miserable and border on useless. The expectations are very high and the pay is laughably low.

Pros

You get to work on your own most of the time- District Manager comes around once a month or if needed.

Cons

As a manager you are in charge of EVERYTHING. You run the store as if you own it and get paid very little for literally giving your life to the company. It’s a family owned chain and the owners and other higher up’s are pleasant and I genuinely like them. However, from a business standpoint the company treats the managers like dirt. You do not get breaks..not a lunch break.. not two 15 minutes. Nothing. There is little praise and a general lack of understanding (or care) of the amount of work managers actually do. Position is salary and 45 hours is the min hours required. Getting a day off is like moving heaven and earth. Being sick is not possible. Emergencies - possibly they will work with you but you still have to make up any hours missed. I don’t recommend this job if you have small children or even a family. Here’s an example... You work a 9 hour shift (6am-3pm) and your second shift cashier calls out sick (cashiers can do this all the time) ....You are now staying to cover their shift (3pm-9pm) and still opening the store the next day. Hours are supposed to be Mon-Fri 6am-3pm and Sat and Sun off. In sum: It’s an enormous amount of work, low pay, and they expect your job to be your entire life.
