Pros
Career Growth Opportunities: The company provides ample opportunities for those willing to put in the effort, with a strong emphasis on internal growth and promotions. Exceptional Colleagues: The people at Centrality are some of the best I've had the pleasure to work with in my career. Strategic Contributions: Having the opportunity to be involved in delivering key strategic developments was both fulfilling and impactful.
Cons
Work-Life Balance: Career growth often comes at the cost of personal time. The high-pressure, sink-or-swim environment can be demanding and stressful. Misalignment of Expectations and Reality: There were many instances where business needs did not match what could feasibly be delivered within the given timescale. Frequent Changes in Work Priorities: The frequent shifts in work priorities and constantly moving goalposts made effective scheduling and planning challenging. Projects could be discontinued at any stage, leading to frustration and inefficiencies. Employee Burnout: Many employees were burnt out without realising it, due to the relentless pace and high demands. Below Market Pay: Compensation is below market standards, which does not reflect the high level of effort and expertise required. Lack of Appreciation at Departure: Despite my significant contributions and efforts to ensure a smooth transition, I felt completely disregarded during my notice period. Despite what I believed to be a positive relationship with senior executives, there was no exit interview or even a simple message of good luck on my final day from any of them, including HR. The lack of acknowledgment on my final day was disappointing and left a bitter taste, making me feel undervalued and disregarded. Inconsistent Recognition: The company readily praises work that has immediate benefits for them, but employees often feel overlooked and unappreciated when their contributions are no longer in the spotlight.
