Pros
I really appreciated the lenient work style at Centium Consulting. There wasn't a lot of pressure from management or my leads, which made for a pretty chill environment. The team dynamics were great; everyone was supportive, and we often had fun, especially with our Fun Fridays. This contributed to a genuinely good work-life balance. From a professional standpoint, I got deep, hands-on experience with NetSuite SuiteScripting. My main responsibilities involved delivering solutions like bug fixes and small functional additions for our American SME clients, which was enjoyable and really helped me build valuable, specialized skills. I also felt that the hikes were decent, and there were good opportunities for growth, which is always a plus.
Cons
Despite the positives, there were some frustrating aspects. When things went south on a project, it often turned into a blame game, and unfortunately, people in lower ranks, like myself, sometimes became the scapegoats. Another major frustration was the time tracking. They would meticulously track our hours and then send out emails about "short hours," which honestly felt like micromanagement and made us feel treated "like kids." The office environment, while the team was good, had its issues. The building itself often had a bad smell, and the elevators were frequently out of order, making it clear that the building needed significant repair and renovation. And even though the team was supportive, there were occasional instances of office politics that could pop up.
