Pros

* Cedrus has a generous work from home policy (generally 1-2 days / week) * Company culture is among the best you can find in this space. Management encourages (optional) happy hours and group activities on a regular basis. * Coworkers are all very smart, motivated and collaborative * In my experience, if this is your first professional job in the tech world, you will learn more at Cedrus in a year than you would at most places in 3-5 * Multiple Fortune 100 company clients to work with * Work-life balance is good. Putting extra effort in on certifications/extra projects is generally rewarded with additional compensation/recognition. * Non-competitive work environment. You feel like coworkers have your back * Many ongoing projects allow a variety of technologies and tools to be used. Often times you are working with the latest and greatest. * Transparency within all hierarchies of the company. * CEO/VPs/Partners are all approachable and welcome conversation/discussions. * If you are a self motivated individual, you will rise. * Little to no traveling in my experience * Company management is receptive to feedback * Benefits are available

Cons

* Health/Dental/Vision insurance is covered partially * You might not always work on a project that 100% aligns with what you want to be doing but always a good learning experience * Can feel uncertain about career progression in the company at times * Work can be stressful at times due to deadlines (normal for this type of job) * Total compensation starts lower than the average for NYC (but there are periodical reviews and adjustment is possible)

Pros

The management at Cedrus is great. They are always going to be there to listen to any questions and concerns that you may have and if have any qualms about the company they will respond and take everything you say into consideration. The interview process is different than your typical algo interview for other tech jobs, which I thought was a lot more fun to go through and allowed for more creativity than just whiteboarding. The company values social events and meeting everyone at the company - there are frequent happy hours and company events, and even throughout the pandemic there have been several virtual team events and happy hours where we all turn our cameras on and chat and have a drink. They have a very generous work from home policy (better than I've seen at other companies), 401k matching, and health/vision/dental insurance. They honestly, truly care about their employees and I have seen that in action the past couple of years. The company itself has been an 11/10 experience in terms of how much I've learned and grown. It is a great job and I do not see myself leaving anytime soon.

Cons

The pay could be more competitive, but there are annual reviews (sometimes 2x a year) where your pay is assessed and could be increased. Sometimes you will be interviewed for a coding project and then put on a project with absolutely no coding.
