Pros
Culture is positive, open, and 8 years in, I've learned in any situation that I can assume positive intent and expect cooperation. Very little territoriality and every manager I've had has been interested in the well being of reports. Would recommend to LGBTQ+, post-military, people with disabilities, and other diverse candidates as a supportive employer. Benefits are good, including 401(k) match and small pension contributions.
Cons
"Cons" feel individual. When functions are outsourced to a third party or a different global region, people in one situation are displaced and opportunities become available elsewhere. This kind of sweeping change has increased at the company in recent years and can be expected to continue. The company has a history of long-service employees (20-25 years) but under the circumstances I'd expect the reputation of Cargill as a longitudinal employer is fading. Also, compensation is capped at the 75th percentile of your market value according to HR/Talent assessment because the company has a total compensation philosophy (benefits etc. comprise the delta).
