      CareFirst CEO - Brian Piennick is great work/life balance

      Cons

      Constantly in fire fighting mode focusing on dealing with latest hot issue of the hour Little to focus on one’s job or what you really should be doing Work is passed around from one role/area to another role/area until it finally gets done regardless whether or not it’s your responsibility or related to your work.

      I have a supportive team, my leadership encourages work-life balance, the company culture is very pleasing to me, plenty of leadership presence and transparency about company happenings, and the employee benefits are phenomenal.

      Ability to work from home.

      Cons

      Extremely low salary for 2026. Far too much work to stay afloat. Everyone is on PTO constantly which makes training/help almost impossible. Tenured employees are unavailable majority of the time and leave unfinished work on your plate to deal with.
