Pros

Best company I've ever worked in, period. And no I haven't been put up to this. Culture is respectful - though note its IT so very very male dominated. IT operational processes are simply brilliant given the size of the company. The place is small but has full respect for Dev, QA, Release processes and tooling. It's not a crappy start-up punching code out the door willy-nilly.

Cons

The original product set started to become uncompetitive around 2012-14. They made some bets on expansion to stay relevant, but the wrong bets. Now (as write this Q1 2018) they are nearing the end of another product revamp. If it comes off the place will be amazing. If not, a bit of a problem. Tech, in other words.

Pros

- Open to flexible working hours, as long as your clear on expectations and get your work done. Office is well stocked (pre- pandemic) - Lots of opportunities to work with High Profile Financial Services and given a lot of responsibility to own work. - Product and Design team is strong means that we have a good understanding of the market and client base for Products - Work with lots of inteligent people who are good at what they do.

Cons

-Culture of continuous improvement and feedback isn't there, this makes it harder to learn & improve. Feels like as a company we are quite settled with how things are. - Lack of personal development structure. Results in promotions feeling adhoc and random, can result in non performing individuals not getting the attention required. - Engineering side of the business lacks ownership and direction - Prioritisation processes are in place but often get superseded by Support / Client Issues. This results in more strategic objectives being postponed and tech debt is not prioritised, which has a knock on effect on pace. - Company culture is diminished slightly, as have moved to predominately working from home

Pros

If you want to take your first steps in your field exposure you get is good and you meet some cool people. Honestly the friends you make there w

Cons

If you are looking to work in finance don't bother, little care for the finance department. Management don't value the work you do and always find a way to belittle your efforts to feel superior. Pay isn't even that great for what you do.
