Pros
A lot of hype in the beginning. You are rushed for training and expected to deliver a lot of loan production for them. Few staff are helpful but most will not help you out. I can honestly say that I cannot think of a single positive thing to say. There is a lot of turnover in this credit union. The CEO cant say no to anyone that makes demands. We were constantly doing something new with little training or notice.
Cons
I worked at Capitol Credit Union for 2+ years and never met one employee who would give this company five-stars let alone two-stars. Growth and management work environment has uneducated managers and inexperienced supervisors. Their rates are awful, the products that get sold rarely work as intended. But the intentions of these products is to make the executive team money, so I guess they work. Their lending portfolio is volatile. Meaning, they write bad loans, such as high debt ratios, using anything as collateral to 'secure' the debt that I know no other institution would approve. For what is worth, this portfolio will blow up and cause massive amounts of delinquency along with charge offs. CEO is only concerned with short term profits, not long term continued growth. They hire sales people in order to sell ancillary products. Most of the time, the member does not know what they are getting. As for home equities and mortgages, they usually have zero mortgage experience and are not fully aware of mortgage federal laws. Senior Leadership does not have a good understanding of the obstacles that employees face each day. The pay is not market comparable even though they will continue to tell you that it is. No support structures and unrealistic expectations.Decision making by committee, poor communication and a lack of accountability at the top, constantly reacting to developments instead of anticipating, no apparent long term strategy.
