Cactus Communications Response
1yHi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you value the flexibility this role offers.
We’d like to address some of the concerns you’ve raised. The introduction of pre-processing technology for routine checks like grammar and syntax was driven by the evolving needs of the academic landscape. The goal has always been to assist editors by reducing time spent on basic tasks, allowing them to focus on providing high-value inputs that highlight their expertise and add the essential “human touch.” Our pre-processing technology is purely assistive—not generative—and all changes made by the tool are reviewed by editors during their process to ensure the best quality for clients. We deeply value our freelancers and believe it is the human editor who ultimately adds the most value to every assignment.
I understand there may be assignments where the changes made by our pre-processing technology may not be as helpful. For such cases, we have a process in place to address editor feedback and ensure compensation for any additional effort required. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t been positive and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at sushmitha.s1@cactusglobal.com to discuss specific assignments further.
Regarding pay, we deeply regret that your experience hasn’t met expectations. We’ve recently introduced changes to better align pay with productivity and quality, and we’d love to hear if these have addressed your concerns. I’m always available to connect if you’d like to discuss further.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts—it’s invaluable in helping us improve.
Warm Regards,
Sushmitha
