Cons
Lack of support for employees on complex projects. Project teams operate at arms length from management. Limited executive expertise in C&SI lifecycle - processes, trends, technologies, tools, project & quality planning, project delivery. Company strategy is customer intimacy, but executive effort is limted to immediate financial targets: maximising prices & rates of profit per engagement, plus minimising cost & risk in winning work, delivering projects and developing capability. C&SI trend is profitability at a decreasing scale, with dropping staff resource levels, scale & skill of IT specialities, customer satisfication, innovation, efficiency, competitiveness, business pipeline, aggregate return on capital. Major project failures have emerged.
