Pros

- IF you are lucky enough to have a good manager, they can help you go a long way in the company. - There is a lot of training offered, but only if your manager sees the value in spending money for it. - Health insurance plans are mediocre but 401K, pension, etc are good. - New work from home and dress for your day policies provide needed flexibility. - There are some true industry experts and long term employees who have a lot of knowledge to share

Cons

- Leadership keeps saying "no layoffs" during this down cycle as they quietly lay many people off. Lots of double talk. I expect to see MANY MORE LAYOFFS coming, despite the rhetoric. - Employees located outside of HQ are left out of everything and you do not feel like part of the team. It creates us vs. them mentality, but HQ can't figure out why this exists. HQ leadership has no idea what is happening at remote facilities. - I would have recommended this company to others a year ago. But things are going downhill fast. - Variable pay & profit sharing is nonsense. They offer lower salaries because they tell you this will make up for it - it doesn't. They have missed the trigger for variable pay, and will continue to do so for several years unless they makes changes. They keep changing the qualifiers for triggering variable pay, and now it is very confusing and unfair (management doesn't even understand it). - Employees located outside of HQ receive very little relevant communication. -Opportunity for upward mobility is extremely limited without relocation to HQ, which company doesn't want to fully fund. - Management & director level positions have zero work life balance. You are expected to put in 60+ hours and taking PTO is frowned on. - Company is focused on change and growth, but does not do proper research and takes on too much, too quickly. This leads to a lot of backpedaling, budget crunches, layoffs, selling recent acquisitions at a loss, etc. - Departments have a lot of infighting. You can't trust many of your coworkers and the dog eat dog culture is to blame. No current culture to harbor collaborative work which is desperately needed. Its all about who can present themselves as the one with the ideas. _ The recent focus on hiring new management and taking on new projects to "focus on the future" are missing the mark and don't meet the core values of the company.

Pros

My time at CHS as a contractor was a great experience overall. The team was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and easy to collaborate with. I appreciated how organized the environment was and how much emphasis was placed on best practices and security standards. Even as a contractor, I felt included in team discussions and had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that helped me grow technically and professionally.

Cons

Unfortunately, my contract ended earlier than expected due to company-wide restructuring related to global business conditions. Aside from that, there weren’t many negatives — communication and leadership were strong throughout my time there.
