Hands on experience with interesting nanomaterial.
Cons
Production varies dramatically depending on customer orders, which causes short term hiring and layoffs. I have seen an engineers get laid off and then hired back 6 months later for a demoted position and then laid off again.
There is little room for growth as a process technician as employees get promoted based on favoritism and not seniority or skill ability.
Process technicians perform hard manual labor mixing heavy volumes of chemicals everyday in an isolated room away from all other staff. There is rarely any thinking involved.
Most staff are from international countries and don’t talk much to process technicians.
