Is this your company?

Great place to take your pet for care, but a terrible company to work for. - Veterinary Technician Bush Veterinary Neurology Service Employee Review

Pros

Most of the medical staff genuinely cares about what they're doing as a profession. Benefits are good. Most of the clients are great to work with.

Cons

Low pay for the cost of living in the area. Management is poorly run and a nightmare to deal with. Extremely two-faced, catty, and high stress environment. Poor work/life balance: very random scheduling; subject to change at a moment's notice and scheduled 10 hour days frequently turn into 12 or 14+ hour days. Compassion fatigue, burnout, and sleep deprivation are the norm.

Pros

-Good Pay -Christmas bonuses (not very large ones but they increase w every year your with the company but its something) -Your learn a lot. Most of the doctors are really eager and happy to show you things, explain things and genuinely want you to know more. - Frequent company lunches - Company outings

Cons

For the most part it's a pretty great company to work for. However your experience will be based off of what location you work at and the Doctors that work at that location. The Rockville office seems to have a high turnover rate, mainly with the receptionist. The health insurance is pretty terrible and the employee discount for in house services. You get a 20% discount which isn't too bad but any person in the vet field gets the same discount. So there really isn't an advantage because you work for the company.

Bush Veterinary Neurology Service Response

Good Morning, I have only just recently come across our company page and noticed your review, so I apologize for the delay in response (I have notifications set up and will be monitoring this page more closely in the future). I am happy that you are enjoying your time at BVNS and, for the most part, think we are a great company to work for. I see that you are not happy with the health insurance that is offered - I would love to speak with you further on what exactly you don't like, what you would like to see in the future, and any ideas you may have to make improvements. I would also be more than happy to discuss the topic of employee discounts and where we compare to other services. Feel free to reach out to me through email or phone so that we can set up a time to talk (I am more than happy to keep your name anonymous regarding our discussion, if you wish). Pros

Pay, benefits, schedule, work life balance

Cons

The work is wonderful. The pay is great. The schedule is great. There’s more staff than there is work to do, but the assistants don’t know the things they should to help the techs. In my experience there, management isn’t in tune with what goes on in the clinics, the DVM favors certain employees and the others get treated terribly. They were trying to rebuild from the last walk out, but looks like they are headed for another. The really bullied one of the LVT’s there and they just fired her. Witnessing all of this is just awful. I do not recommend working here. Toxic environment
