Pros
Incredible product to work on - from tours, to festivals, to music events to sailing - one can truly be proud of the products they are offering. Great team spirit - especially on the road, where guides really bond and help one another. Travel perks - to a degree.
Cons
Managing Director's life mantra 'Don't let the truth get in a way of a good story' shapes how the company functions behind closed door. From compulsive lying, to manipulation, to misogynistic sexist remarks, to lack of ownership for his own decisions, to fundamentally wrong business decisions and lack of direction the business has been on a downhill for sometime. Since it's longevity and position on the market has been weakened by new, more competitive entrants to the market, it a difficult workplace to be in as morale is down and the company is massively understaffed - both in the back office as well as on the road. Due to that people work extremely long hours for a very low pay (too low for London standards). The management team is a boys' club with a no female in a senior position that would have any say in decision-making. In such a totalitarian management style, the company doesn't give much room for progression. Operations team is the team where one will benefit the most from career progression, learning opportunities and travel - it does come at a cost of long hours, especially during the peak summer season.
