Pros

Built In is an incredible place to work if you want to be challenged, do meaningful work, and surround yourself with talented, passionate people. The team here is one of the best parts—everyone is smart, driven, and deeply committed to the work they’re doing. The leadership team, especially the CEO, is exceptionally caring and genuinely invested in the success and well-being of their employees. During my time here, I did the best work of my career. While the company has navigated some economic challenges, leadership has always been swift and strategic in their actions, making adjustments to ensure the company’s long-term success. If you're looking for a place where your contributions truly matter, this is the environment for you.

Cons

At times, leadership is faced with making difficult decisions, and while not every decision may be universally agreed upon (hey, that's business), they are always made with the best intentions for the business and its people in the long run. It’s a fast-paced, high-growth environment that isn’t suited for everyone, but for those who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced and impactful settings, Built In is an absolutely incredible place to grow and do great work!

Pros

I feel consistently challenged and engaged by the work. There’s always something meaningful to contribute to. Leadership invites open, honest conversations when something isn’t working. Feedback is taken seriously and followed up on. New ideas are actually implemented. I’ve seen multiple suggestions from teammates evolve into real projects within a few months. Collaboration across departments is excellent. Marketing, product, and engineering work closely together instead of operating in silos. That collaboration helps everyone see how their work fits into the company’s larger goals. The leadership does set bold, multi-year goals (e.g. doubled revenue targets, new product verticals) and then backs them with resources. Strategy isn’t static, but the shifts are usually in response to validated data (metrics, customer feedback, market changes) rather than whim. Communication is improving: we’ve had more frequent all-hands Q&A sessions, departmental “town halls,” and Slack threads where execs directly respond.

Cons

Because the company is scaling fast, roles sometimes evolve quicker than job descriptions, which can feel murky during transitions.
