Pros
good pay for non-profit and located on Lehman College campus
Cons
The organizations mission is not carried out as it should be due to the dehumanizing and intimidating practices from management on staff. Here, everyone is a manager and employees are highly mistreated. This place is an endless revolving door as staff is extremely overworked and undervalued. While working here, I saw more than 20 people come and go due to being let go for "insufficient funds in the budget" or leaving on their own terms. None of those staff members were ever replaced, causing the workloads of the remaining employees to grow tremendously. The organization never looked to hire new people to take away some of the burden from their remaining staff and continued to pile on more work. They have unrealistic expectations and timelines. At this organization, employees are expected to change their schedules to work evenings and weekends on short notice as well as continuously guess and anticipate what is expected of them without receiving clear directions from management. Work here only if you want to learn what you don't want in a job and organization.
