Pros

Remote work environment for US offices: they've retained the WFH model post-COVID. My team has to sometimes go into the office, but no more than 4-6 times per year. It's also worth noting that the company was an early adopter in that BMI completely moved to remote work around the 2nd-3rd week of March 2020. Great colleagues: team members are competent, flexible, and overall pleasant to work with! Of all employers I've worked for, my colleagues at BMI have been the best and most reliable. There are some exceptions, but the people I work with regularly are fantastic. PTO: Paid time off is accrued. If you work 40 hrs/week (salary), you're basically guaranteed 2+ weeks for the year. Standard US holidays with some floating ones available for those not covered already. Sometimes the company allows us to log off early the day before a holiday, especially if it's a holiday weekend.

Cons

Increase in layoffs and outsourcing: while BMI has requisitioned the bulk of tech work to their satellite offices in India, they've also outsourced client-facing roles, which has created many challenges due to the cultural barriers and language barriers. Additionally several directors whose reports were let go in the last round of layoffs were not informed until it happened, so there was a lot of scrambling that could have been mitigated in some way. Unempathetic C-level: related to the above, there have been cuts that have negatively affected multiple teams and the execs could not care less. They are beholden to the board and the board only, and morale has dampened a lot since the start of this year. It says a lot when you can feel that low morale in a remote setting, let alone in an office. Constant restructuring: take the org chart away from whoever keeps doodling on it, because it almost always does more harm than good. Substandard pay/no cost-of-living raises or yearly bonuses: Self-explanatory. I'm sure a fraction of this was attributed to COVID-related revenue loss, but even so... pay your employees. Lack of process improvement overall: very "set it and forget it" in that processes are not revisited often even after years of being in place
