Leadership is absolutely out of touch. I'm not sure that anyone beyond my direct manager really knows what I do every day, especially not the higher-ups. Recently, the CEO got wind that several teammates were looking for work due to low pay, no raises in the future, and poor revenue outlook. Instead of working with this high-achieving team to find out how retention can be improved, we've heard rumors of shutting down the vertical, replacing key staff, and one employee's job was even posted while they are still performing their job duties. There seems to be this attitude that we are all replaceable quickly, despite our very specialized knowledge and ability to perform our jobs seamlessly and with little oversight. We are also expected to perform jobs we weren't hired for, wear multiple hats, and sometimes hold multiple titles. Really costly health insurance and poor benefits. No 401k match. No maternity or paternity policy beyond STD and FMLA.
